A self taught migrant artist, influenced by Steiner education, nursing and counselling background whom has travelled extensively in Australia, Europe and the Far East.

Having recieved training in numerous workshops conducted by Flying Art Inc. and various visiting artists statewide, Kate has also been a local tutor for four years in pastels, drawing and acrylics for adults and children in projects sponsored by both Mt Isa Visual Art Society (MIVAS) and Skills Training.

Kate has been the area representive for Flying Art Inc. for the last six years, attending Brisbane Management Course AIMS 1999, organising classes, treasurer and the tutor selection. In the same time Kate was also the co-ordinator for the Annual Rotary Art Exhibition and aided in the set up of several exhibitions.

Catherine Lodewyk is also a State Registered Nurse, and has a Community Welfare Diploma from James Cook University. Kate is also a qualified Justice of the Peace and is a Company Director at M.H. Lodewyk Pty. Ltd.
