V8 308 cubic inches

750 Holley + Extractors

1979 HZ Holden Premier

Boasting a massive 5lt V8 308 the Prem was first built in April of 1979. Since its manafacture it has had several alterations. In its initial incarnation it was a 202 6cyl column shift trimatic. This was altered to its current V8 aussie four speed floor shift with SAAS racing seats and SAAS mahogany wood grained steering wheel. After having the word Premier stiched into the seats the Prem remaines otherwise stock.   This monster of the road has borne many extras in its long life. It currently has a 750 Holley sitting atop the engine replacing the regular carb. Once wearing a sticker on the boot reading 'Deathwish' it has progressed to less unwanted eye catching material(constantly being pulled over by the boys in blue). An aftermarket passenger mirror has been added along with a Kenwood sound system.

At somepoint a previous owner decided to put what is known as a 'bug catcher' onto the engine, resulting in the necessary hole in hood. After learning the laws for Queensland regarding vechicle improvements, it became apparent that it was illegal to have metallic moving parts sticking above the hood(in case you hit someone).   The sound system consists of a Kenwood cd player hooked up to a 750 watt amplifier in the boot; this in turn is connected to the two 6x9 200watt speakers in the parcel deck; as well as the 12 inch Kenwood subwoofer. Topped off with two 6inch 150watt speakers up front with tweaters and crossover switches.

So with the 'bug catcher' gone there was now a massive hole in the hood. This was rectified by placing a camaro bonet scoop over the hole. Now legal to drive again in Queensland. After lowering the car to a mere 75mm ground clearance it has reached its current configuration.   I voluntarily have placed my car off the road at the moment while I make repairs and restorations(no I haven't crashed the damn thing). However I have decided to keep it as my toy and have designated it as my doer upper. Code named: Project Premier.
